B/HAM radiator

Has any one come across a B/HAM Scott where the cut away in the petrol tank appears to be in the wrong place for the filler neck on the radiator. thank eric

Hi Eric
When I had a radiator rebuilt by Jack Butterworth some years ago for my 1957 Brum, I asked him to reposition the filler neck a little further forward as previously the neck and tank recess were touching. I still have the rad on my Brum and there is about an1/8″ clearance between the two.

Thanks Dave ,either the cut away on the tank is to near the stearing head or the filler neck is to far out and is tight against the tank.both difficult to alter. eric

Problem solved, it appears that all B/HAM tanks don’t fit all B/HAM frames,the bolt holes are in different places.If I put the front bolt in the rear one was a good inch out,the holes on the frame are father apart so moving the tank back and using the rear holes then drilling new front holes moved it away from the radiator.problem solved eric
