Can any one please tell me why so many Scott owners and long standing club members call the late Shipley type Scott built in B/ham , B/ham Scotts. you would be surprised how many oil tanks have been advertised on ebay in the motorcycle press and in the club over the last fifteen months since I have been looking for one as B/ham tanks when they all come from late Shipley type Scotts. The number of proper B/ham type petrol tanks that have been for sale there must be a lot of oil tanks hiding somewhere. I just cant find one. Eric

Morning Eric, Those who nose DONT call Shipleys Brums. Shipleys are PRE 1950, Brums are POST 1956. The ones in between 50 and 56 are” Shipley type” built at Aerco Jig & Tool in Birmingham, from old Shipley stuff. Regards Geoff.

Hi Geof I agree with what you say but it does not explain why so many late Shipley type parts are advertised as B/ham bits. eric
