Seasons greetings to all.
There is a fairly nice looking ’66 Scott for sale with no reserve at the Auctions America deal in Las Vagas on January 12th here:
https://www.auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm?SaleCode=LV12&ID=r301
The lot list for the rest of the auction is quite spectacular, and even includes a mid 1890’s Roper steam motorcycle, several Broughs, and many great bikes from the teens through the 60’s. Go sell all those stocks now and buy some REAL assets!
The Scott in question had been put up for sale on ebay in November, with a ‘buy it now ‘ price of $10,000. The bidding got only to $4,000 and the bike did not sell.

Here is a video of the bike running:

I can’t say that I much like the color, but it seems like a good bike. Any thoughts on what a Birmingham Scott should be worth? This one may go for a fairly low price.

Hi Mark. As the compiler of the Birmingham Scott Register i keep a close watch on all things Brum. For what it”s worth, my valuation of a Birmingham Scott is as follows , From Condition 1,Rough,non running but all there, in need of complete restoration,£1500 to £2000 condition 2 ,Scruffy but running, and needing restoring,£2000 to £2500. Condition 3,Running and able to be ridden,in fair condition ,and original.£3000. Condition 4, on the road in good useable order, unrestored or older restoration, £3000 to£4000. Condition 5, Well restored ,running properly, all good paint and chrome.£4500 to £5000. Condition 6,Concorse and exceptional, £5000 to £6000 The “best” price i know of is £7000 for a show winning, top restored bike, sold overseas.
Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the detailed response. I would think that this bike is probably a 3-4 condition. With the 12% buyers premium and shipping, it is hard to justify as an ‘investment’. It does look like a nice rider though.
Best to all in the New Year,
Mark
Pity about that paint colour though…Yuk !

I’ll second that! 😯 🙄
Only in America, eh? 😈 ❗ ❗ ❗
The vendor must be a dealer as there are lots of other videos of different bikes being ridden up and down the same alleyway by the same guy, inc. 1928 Sunbeam, 1936 Harley, etc., etc..

Good eye Brian!
It sold for $8,000 or about 5,200 pounds. That seems like a strong bid to me, given that everything else seems very weak in price. Many nice bikes selling for what I think are low levels. Go to http://www.auctionsamerica.com to view live tonight, tomorrow and Saturday.
