Hello All,
Back in October member Richard Tann kindly created a post entitled “Birmingham Scott for sale” to advertise my late father-in-law’s bike. It has now found a new home.
In clearing out his garage we have come across lots of spare Birmingham Scott parts – origin unknown.
We would prefer these to go to Scott Owners Club members and as a complete “job lot”. But we will consider requests for individual items 🙂
21/01 – update – happy to sell items separately.
You can view these items at this online gallery…

I think the frame is S 1218 it’s 1959, originally had engine DMS2015 which is now in another Birmingham Scott. The Reg No I have is not on the DVLA. It has been unheard of for very many years.
Hi Ian,
Well that’s interesting news, a long lost frame…thanks for the update.
I would agree, I think it’s S1218.
Out of curiosity what reg number do you have?
Can you give any advice on whether the frame will be useful to anybody? Do people rebuild Scotts from parts like this/can it be done?
Regards
Chris
I don’t think its a Birmingham Scott radiator.
So it might be worth those with earlier models having a look!!
Cheers Stan – I’ve edited this post title to help.

Chris
Chris, I have sent you a pm
This frame, S1218 was kicking around years ago, owned then by Brian Austin from Buxton. I always thought the frame stamping looked,” not quite right”. The original bike bearing this number was registered as 165 MPE. Ex works 14/12/1959. The engine was DMS 1215,(as stated). It looks like this bike was broken up and sold as parts. The photos of the stuff now for sale, shows two of the fork legs (with the axel holes not in line) are Panther or Velocette. The rusty chain guard is not Brum, the top one in the photo is. The rest is all usefull good stuff!
Cheers Geoff, as mentioned we don’t know any history of these parts but your advice is very helpful.

Chris
I should have said that the frame number is normally found on the near side front tube (near the top frame gusset) Your number is about 3″ higher up.
