Birmingham Scott – swinging arm bushes

I need some advice on replacing the bushes on the swinging arm of my Brum Scott.

Does anyone know:-

1. If they are ‘exclusive’ to Aerco Scotts or if they are common to any other machine (BSA etc?).

2. If they are ‘one offs’ exactly what material I need to obtain to make them (I assume they are phosphor bronze of some sort).

I would take the axel and the swinger to some machineshop or a machinist friend.
I had a new axel made by a friend a couple of years ago, the bushes didn’t seem to have suffered.
My guess is phosphor- bronce too.

Thanks Jan, I’ll try to manufacture some myself first and if that fails (which it probably will!) I’ll take it to an expert.
