Birmingham Scotts side stands

There is something wrong here! No wonder I get no answers; nobody ever sees the question. Did anyone see the question about side stands?
Perhaps 1949 is the cut off point .

Birmingham Side Stands

Right I’ll have another go! 1/ were Birmingham Scotts ever fitted with side stands? 2/ What did they look like? 3/ How did they fit?
4/ do any still exist? Derek Swetnam

Hi Derek
Brum Scotts did not have side stands fitted as standard. I do have a clamp-on one fitted to mine, about four inches back from the front engine bolt. You can often find these for sale at m/c auto jumbles, but you need to make sure that the opening is lage enough to fit on the Scott frame tube.

The only side stand available in the fifties for Birmingham Scotts was a couple of house bricks. Replicas are available at most B & Q Stores.
