Brum brake shoes

Hello

Having just found out that the 8″ BSA A10 brake shoes will fit the rear brake of a Brum I am now looking to do the same for the double-sided 7″ front. Does anyone know if an alternative is available or is there anyone out there who will sell me some Brum front brake shoes.

I was missing one brake shoe and was able to purchase an original (NOS) one from Velocette. I did buy a couple of front shoes from an importer here in Australia but was not impressed with the quality as they were made in India. I think they suited an enfield but I can’t remember. The difference was in the width of the anchor point. I was going to make up the difference at the anchor point by fitting an o’ring on either side at the anchor point to stop movement. Its an option if you can’t get originals.

Thanks for the reply. Bsa and Enfield shoes are a near miss. I’ve just bought a pair of Triumph TRW ones so I’ll see how they go. If they’re any good I’ll let you know. How’s your bike coming along ?

In progress. The radiator is being recored. The brakes about to have new linings bonded on and then the wheels re-spoked. Gearbox overhaul in progress (bushes, bearings etc). Hopefully the middle of the year and it will be a goer. KP 🙂
