Just noticed the inquiry about the type of tool boxes fitted to Birmingham Scotts from Brian in the USA. TOOL BOXES. The same type of tool box was also used by Royal Enfield,Ariel,Panther,Cotton,Excelsior and others! They have FLAT lids with “bottle top” lid-fasteners. Some late built Brums have the later type Royal Enfield boxes with CONVEX lids. India -Enfield use this type so they are still available new for about £80 a pair. BSA Boxes were not fitted to production brums.
