carburetor settings

Hello,

on wednesday I finaly started my Scott, after 6 years of work. I did first 66 km and Im slowly setting the carb. so just wanted to ask how are other people experiences about carb settings. Engine is fully reonditioned. Carb is bronze Amal, standard type.
I have the needle position at the second highest groove and the mixture screw is one turn out. Mixture seems to be bit richer, but I would say its better during running in the engine. Also the plgrim pump setting is bit more a the moment. If someone has some other experiences, please let me know.

Sounds OK to me, Scotts like ample fuel and oil, especially during running in.
This applies to the first 500 Km/miles whatever and then adjust to plug colour
if necessary. Regards.

Hi Paul,

perfect, thanks. I have about 930 km already and engine is running better and better. I already went bit lower with the mixture and oil and seems to be Ok. Now just have to have small rest, as the spokes in the rear wheel are braking. Pavel Simek told me he is using stainless steel once and are Ok, maybe I made it too stiff. But already waiting for the normal steel and this should be Ok.
