Chain wanted

Hi all

Quite a bit off topic but I am desperate.

I need some roller chain with a 3/8 pitch, 1/4 rollers and 1/8 between the plates, needing about 16″.

Does anyone have some spare or know of a source, pleeeeease 😛 😛

Try “Sprockets Unlimited”, but I suspect that you may be out of luck and be having to consider having new sprockets made to a pitch to suit available chains. Also try model engineering suppliers. What do you need it for ?

Sprockets unlimited don’t list it but I have sent an email to ask them, fingers crossed.

I need it for the kickstart chain on my ’14 P&M.

I haven’t considered changing the sprocket as it would need to have the same pitch and approximate roller dia to get the number of required teeth and it is then the width that is the sticking point due to clearane issues.

I have considered however that I may have to “narrow” some chain. I have the correct pitch and roller dia but it is too wide. If I dismantle the chain, shorten the rollers and pins then reassemble and peen the ends, simple 😯 It only needs to be about 43 links long, how long can that take 😉

Have just heard from sprockets unlimited and they say they have the chain so looks like I all sorted.
