Can anyone give me the measurements for the friction plate on the outside of the drive backing plate of the clutch assembly;
mine seems well worn and I need to get someone to bond a new friction material. Its a 29′ flyer.
It is not a standard size as it is not an original fitting. There were originally circular cork inserts for a few years, and then changed to Ferodo type inserts of the same size. Here in the UK we can send our clutch chainwheels to Saftek in Cleckheaton to have the inserts replaced with a ring of friction material at a VERY reasonable price, and a fast service of two or three working days, but I have no idea if there is a firm in Oz doing it….
I have the ferocity button type, badly worn on outside so I had in mind to have a local place bond new material on. Can you suggest a thickness or will the Same as clutch friction plates do?
