When I was selling original N.O.S Scott spares I looked into the cost of making new barrels & 21th final drive sprockets, I would have had to have a batch of 50 barrels of the same type made to get the price down to something like a reasonable figure “£300 each” or there abouts, I would have had to pre sell most of them to cover the cost of getting them made, which is something I believe would have been very unlikely as I had previously tried to raise interest in getting a batch of 20 & 21th sprockets made, but could only find potential buyers for 10 out of a batch of 50 which had I decided to get them made would have left me out of pocket to the sum of nearly £2,000.
I feel that unless Scott owners are prepared to pay large sums of money up front, to cover the cost of getting a small batch of new barrels or nearly any other new parts made “either by Roger or some other engineering concern”, then things will start to look very bleak for the future of Scotts in general.
