Looking at the activity in the “Events” part of this board I thought it would we wise to promote our run in the general section too. So….
With at least 4 Dutch SOC members now the time has finally come to organise the first…
Dutch Scott Run, August 11-12 2007
Geert de Boer, a fellow SOC member, has taken the splendid initiative to organise this run. It will be an informal gathering amongst friends with the chance of a lifetime to explore the nice Dutch scenery on your Scott!
Below you will find his text that has been published in Yowl:
My name is Geert de Boer and I’ve been a SOC member since 2000. For a few years I’ve been the only Dutch SOC member, but not anymore! If I am informed right we’ve got 4 Dutch members at the moment and all with a Scott in running condition. So I thought it’s time to organise a run.
Date is set on August 11-12 2007 at my home. We have got room for about 3 caravans or campervans and we have 2 spare bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed that are available on a first come, first served basis.
If you prefer a campsite, there are 3 not to far from us. The closest is at approx. 1 km distance (De Rozenhorst, phonenumber: +31 77 3270340) and 2 others a bit further away (De Maashof, phonenumber: +31 77 4631924 or Boszicht, phonenumber: +31 77 4631213).
The idea is to do a run of about 90 km on both Saturday and Sunday using the follow up system and with some interesting places to visit.
The costs is 20 Euro per person including Saturday breakfast, lunch, BBQ and Sunday breakfast. Lottum is a small town in de South East of the Netherlands (approx. 15 km North of Venlo) so it might also be of interest to some of our German members.
If you would like to take part, please let me know before August 1st 2007.
Regards,
Geert de Boer

Well, it’s over!
I would like to say a big, big thank you to all the people that made this fantastic run possible! Especially to the de Boer family for their hospitality and very good catering. And to everyone present for the great atmosphere!
With riders from Germany, Britain and of course Holland this really was an international event for people that like to ride their Scotts.
Read the full report soon on my website! Of course with lots of pictures and film.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Erik
Geert and family, thanks for organising this fine event 😆 .
We enjoyed the scenery, had nice weather and a good run in the country (even in two countries).
It’s nice to see a number of Scott’s and to compare and in fact see that they are all the same make, but they are all different.
Again: Geert thanks for this great event !
