early style solo seat on a Brum?

Is it possible to fit an early style solo seat on a Birmingham Scott? The frame looks to have mounts for one ,maybe it was an option?

Hi James, Can”t say I have ever seen a single seat on a Birmingham Scott, but no doubt it it could be done,if you so desire!

I have a vague memory of seeing a photo of a prototype Brum with a saddle instead of a dual-seat, BUT, why do something that removes originality and therefore loses value from the bike ? I suppose that if you don’t actually mutilate Scott components, and ensure that the dual-seat stays with the bike, it won’t do any harm, but I personally wouldn’t do it.

I have a lot of time for solo seats they can be very comfortable I have a pergusa seat fitted to a Vincent comet at the moment never sat on a more cofortable machine.
In one of the scott scene books there was a pre war scott with a dual seat……
