Just a quick reminder that our April meeting is next Sunday, April 14th, at our usual venue, The Vale of Belvoir Hotel, which is on the A52 road, (Redmile turn-off), approximately mid-way between Nottingham and Grantham. We meet at 10am. It is of course the Club AGM on Saturday April 13th, so a busy Scott weekend for me ! The garden will just have to wait a bit longer…..

Well, I’m truly fed up of both gardening and Scotts 🙁 After the weekend hedge/tree based activities I have a large Blackthorne spike impailed in my calf which resisted all (painful) attempts at removal by the (very pretty) staff nurse at the drop-in centre. Current thinking is that it is not good to open the wound to get it out so I have to wait about 1 week for it to fester before it should pull out….nice

My Scott is also still in lots of bits with no sign of a finish anytime soon. The meeting is just what I need to rekindle enthusiasm. Given the weather is looking better I feel Il have to come on a motorbike. Unfortunately, the only legal/working “motorbike” I have at the moment is the Cyclemaster. Knowing my current luck I shall be making most of the journey under pedal power. 😆

Hi Keith. The killer will be that long slogging hill from Gunthorpe Bridge up to the East Bridgeford crossroads…….

Yep, thats a bad one. The climb up through Lambley village is also nasty – that one caused a seize on a Speedtwin when running in! The trouble with living in North Nottingham is that there are a lot of hills. When you have less that 1 bhp it certainly shows 😀

Must be the 28cc ‘cooking model’ rather than the 32cc tarmac ripper then ?

Its actually a half way house as it started with the smaller engine but now has the mighty 32 cc barrel and piston! The originals were a bit worse the wear once I finally managed to free the piston off. To be honest, I don’t think there is much between practical difference between the two engines ie slow rather than very slow 😆
