Hi all, as Eastern Section members will be aware, we lost our previous meeting venue last year, when the Haven-in-the-Vale pub/hotel closed down, and since then we have met at The Buttercross pub/restaurant in Bingham Market Place. As a local councillor handling planning applications, I have despaired of the place ever opening again, as I have seen planning applications for changes of use, such as a hostel for vulnerable adults. A couple of days ago however I was told that the Haven is being refurbished and extended as a pub/hotel/restaurant again, hopefully reopening in August or September. I will keep an eye on proceedings, and see if they will have us back again. Watch this space !!
