Hello to all experts and alike. Not knowing Scotts as well as many of you maybe someone can spread some light on the following pictures. No its not for sale so please do not ask.
1. Year of Engine would help. (so far Ive been told 1914 to 1920’s also possible race engine) ??
2. Is the inlet track correct ?
3. Why four plugs, (all exposed to the combustion chamber) ?
4. Engine number 4286 no prefix letters
5. Look to be cast pistons and have a threaded insert up inside of piston below pin ?
6. Correct carb for this engine, yes or no.?

Kev the threaded rings inside of the pistons engage with slots in the wrist pins to lock them. I recon that you were aware of this .Good luck with this very nice motor .An early seasons greetings to you and yours . Regards Les .

Engine 4286 would be about Feb/March 1920. The VMCC Library would be able to tell you the specification of the motorcycle it was fitted to.

Thanks to everyone who participated in identification of this engine. Now to get all the other missing items and a visit to the VMCC Library to see what model it was fitted too and then replicate. Kev

Twin plugs may indicate light aircraft or maybe a drone with twin mags.
