Has any one had problems fitting a exhaust to a blind head 600 longstroke started today to make one and found the outer edge of the exhaust port is in line with the frame, almost as if the frame tubes are two close together or the ports are wider than normal.
Hi Eric, Is the exhaust pipe a new one, or has it been fitted to a bike before ? I know that some pattern pipes are pretty useless, but won’t mention any names….

Eddie Shermer made up a shortened central crankcase stud with a flanged nut for me.
This allows the exhaust mounting plate to be turned slightly sideways to enter between the down tubes and then located on the mounting holes (all a very tight squeeze, but it works).
I am sure Eddie would be prepared to make one up for you (he may even have some in stock).
Chris.
On one ‘tight fit’ exhaust that I had a few years ago, it still fouled the left-hand frame downtube, and I ended up getting it red hot in the area and indenting the pipe with a length of steel bar, squeezed into it with a big G-cramp.
