Just to prove that I’m not totally obsessed by Scotts,( but it is another quirky two-stroke!), I’m selling my 1982 Jawa Mustang, which is a cracking little lightweight motorcycle, and eligible for the majority of VMCC road events. It’s nice and simple, with just three gears, no indicators, petroil lube, etc.. It’s on eBay, and is item number 140935890690.

Thanks for your best wishes. I’ve no idea how many were imported, but it can’t have been many, and when I bought it I had never seen one before. The shape of the tank really appealed to me, together with the horizontal cylinder layout. It is a proper motorcycle, but nice and light, at less than 130 pounds. Almost no plastic either ! At the time, young lads all wanted a Yamaha FS1E, but the Jawa was cheaper, and just as fast, at about 45mph, a bit more with a slim teenage rider ! There are internet spares shops in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Hungary, with a very good range of remarkably cheap spares, costing far less than equivalent Japanese parts.
