After much hassle and head scratching I have just managed to upgraded the Forum software to a supported version ! – and i hope it still works ? Please let me know (by replying to my posting or by email to webmaster@scottownersclub.org) if you have any problems using it (note that i still have some fine tuning/configuration work to do). If there are any major problems in the next 72 hours or so i will revert to the previous forum.
Many thanks,
Seems ok to me.
Dave
All seems to be working very well to me Paul. Good work !
Seems to be working fine. Issued me with a new password instantly & allowed me to change it to something I can remember. Looks good as well.

Seems to be working fine, as all changes it will take time to get accustomed aiso it seems to have got rid of the daily unwanted additions to the membership list. Thanks Paul for all the time you have spent on our behalf it is much appreciated.

Thanks for confirming it all works and for your support. I’d better catch up on my sleep now,
Cheers,
I was just about to send you an email to ask why the board was down…. And then I finally read that it was moved.. ๐ณ
Looks good now, just a bit more modern and everything seems to work fine. Well done!
It’s brilliant, your hard work much appreciated.
Thanks again, glad you like it – so who’s going to be first to try out the image upload settings ?
Cheers,
Paul
I would like to try but I do not see the option?
Are you sure it is enabled?
From the FAQ:
“Why canโt I add attachments?
Attachment permissions are granted on a per forum, per group, or per user basis. The board administrator may not have allowed attachments to be added for the specific forum you are posting in, or perhaps only certain groups can post attachments. Contact the board administrator if you are unsure about why you are unable to add attachments.“
Shouldn’t there be an upload box or something? Or am I simply overlooking it?
Hi Erik, when you select ‘post reply’ – the function should appear as an ‘upload attachment’ tab which you can find just below the free flow text box and next to the ‘Options’ tab. If it works then there should be a picture attached to this reply (oh, and you’ll need to be logged in to be able to see the attachments),
Cheers,
Paul
Well something seems to go wrong here…. I do not see the tab and I cannot see your picture… It says in red:
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
And I am logged in (otherwise I could not post this…)
See this post too: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1613&p=5544#p5544
Any other ideas?
Cheers,
Erik
I have the same problem.
Dave
Hello Paul,
It may be that you have to set the permissons for each for section of the forum or group.
If that is the case you would also have to set “can upload” and “can download” for “General Scott topics” in Global Groups Permissions.
Hope I have the terminology down correctly ๐
