FREE Gearbox oil at Scott Rally August 28th

Hello all,
This is just a quick and very late reminder that I will again be GIVING AWAY FREE 140 grade gearbox oil to any member who wants it tomorrow at the Rally/Gathering. Just bring a suitable container and I will give you a jug full. This oil, in a five-gallon drum, was given to me several years ago by Roger Lane, shortly before he died, and he asked for it to be given to Eastern Section members. Not enough of them have availed themselves of the gift, and a five-gallon drum takes up a lot of workshop space, so I am again offering it to all members.

I knew there was something I’d forgotten to do…! Thanks for bringing my bits and I hope you enjoyed a quick run round on TT2. Well done on the trophy, if only for a camera bracket we’d be bandsawing it in half!

Hi,
Again only a couple of people had some of the free oil. Perhaps I should have put an earlier reminder on this website, or even in Yowl. Thanks for your kind remarks about me winning the Premier Award. It makes all the years of blood, sweat, and toil worth it. To have another bike restored by me come second was just the icing on the cake, so I went home a happy bunny. My new radiator, collected at the Rally looks exquisite, and will soon be on WX 179, my latest find, which is 29 TT 3. Again a long and hard rebuild in front of me, but the forks are already done, exhaust pipe done, both wheels nearly done, and the only major problem /expense is the petrol tank, as the existing one is beyond redemption. The magneto should be ready soon, and so in theory the bike could perhaps be done for the 2012 Rally. Fingers crossed!
