Has anyone had the tube replaced or repaired that runs through the fuel tank?
My 47 Flyer inner tank tube has a visible rust hole and thin metal from corrosion. Names of any recommended repairers would be much appreciated.
It may be cheaper to source another tank but I am not sure whether this style has changed much through the years?
I picked up a sound tank a few weeks ago for less than £60, and you won’t get much in the way of skilled tank repairs for that kind of money !
Flyer frame geometry changed three times, with the last time being in 1934, so petrol/oil tanks from then to 1947 should fit your bike. Measure the fixing hole centres before parting with your money, just to be sure. Tanks after 1947 to 1950 will fit but have no oil compartment as the later bikes have a separate oil tank.
