gearbox number

Can anyone please tell me where the gearbox number is on a B/ ham scott thanks eric

It’s stamped on the end cover on the flat area where the lay shaft bearing fits ( on the outside of course! ) It most likely starts with CM (close medium), followed by a 4 digit number.

Looks like one that escaped,no numbers on it any where only a casting number inside. thanks eric

My Brum Scott had the number stamped across the circular boss on the end cover that houses the mainshaft gear ball race.

Just acquired a footchange gearbox and it has the number stamped across the circular boss that supports the mainshaft bearing, just the same as my old Brum.
