The Tea Hut at High Beech, Epping Forest on the north East corner of Epping is under threat. The current hut has been there, run by the same family, for over 80 years. But the owners of the land, The Corporation of London has, without notice, put the license out to tender. It is virtually impossible for Bradley, the current manager, to be able to be able to compete for this and keep tea at 80p. All that will happen is that some anonymous chain will take it over selling pre-packaged rubbish and all because they’ll pay the Corporation more money. It’s also well known that The Corporation wants to be rid of bikers in the Forest altogether…

Hi, I couldn’t get the link to work, but Scott fans may not be aware that High Beech, known one time as High Beach, was the place that Dirt-Track racing or Speedway was born in this country, on 18th/19th February 1928, so there is a strong motorcycle connection going back 86 years, which ought to be supported.
