There was no horn on the bike when I bought it earlier this year, and since there are no other Scotts in Norway, I need some help. As far as I can find out, a 1936 Flyer should have a Klaxxon horn with an alloy cover with Scott emblem and squirrel. Such an animal is hardly obtainable anywhere, so I have bought an original 6 Volt Lucas Altette horn which seems to be almost identical, and (I believe) was used on the Clubman series in 1939/40.
My problem is: how was it fastened? What kind of brackets were used? The horn should be mounted just behind the rear mudguard on the right hand side, in the triangle created by the frame member between seat post and rear axle, and the lower, horisontal frame member (fork), but how? It is a fairly heavy lump, and should need substantial support. Has anyone got bracket(s), or drawings/photos?
