Hey all,
Quite some time ago I made the posting below in the “About this forum section” explaining how to place a picture in a posting because this question is quite often asked.
I guess most people read the “general section” only so I repeat here.
@Paul/Roger (moderators): could you perhaps make this a sticky?
Here a short explanation on placing a picture in your posting.
In order to put a picture in your posting this picture has to be online somewhere. When you see a picture you would like you can put it into your message by using the [img]tag.
Simply put[img]in%20front%20of%20the%20link%20and[/img] behind it.
For example: When you go the SOC website and rightclick the picture on the startpage you can find the URL under “Properties”. When you copy and paste this between the IMG tags like this (but then without the space before word “img”) you get this result:
[ img]https://www.scottownersclub.org/Images/great_scott_1923.jpg
Below the result after removing the space:

Instead of typing the IMG tag you can also use the IMG button above. Click on it, add the URL and click on it again.
If you would like to post your own picture it has to be on line somewhere. When you do not have webspace of your own you could use one of the online photo albums like https://www.photobucket.com (free). By the way, this site provides the URL to use in messageboards etc. below the picture, ready for use.
Some other picture sites
https://flickr.com
https://picasa.google.com
https://imageschack.us
I have created a subfolder on my website for forum pictures. So if you only occasionaly would like to place a picture you could mail it to me and I will put it online for you asap. I am online pretty much… Mail to info at flyingsquirrel.nl.
Please make your picture not larger then 800×600, that will keep the forum better readable.
Hope this helps! Any questions, just reply!
Cheers,
Erik
