I have finished rebuilding my 1930 rep after it broke it’s cranks a couple of years back and it just does not want to start. – Compression is OK, crankcase doors sealed, carb stripped, restrippped, built and rebuilt god knows how many times over the last few days – ignition ( using one of Tony’s electronic ‘magnetos) is spot on – 30 degree btdc on full advance, Plug leads have been swapped back and forth 2 dozen times, new set of A6’s as well as the old ones, plenty of fuel, right leg like an olymic athelete and yet not even a whimper .
The plugs do not even get damp so I suspect the problem is one of scavenging – no obvious airleaks – help!
She never was a particularly good starter but even when in the deepest sulk she would always fire occassiomnaly (just enough to convince you to try for another 5 minutes!) but this is stupid. – I have even tried easy-start through the plug holes which will run her for about 1 second before she cuts out again.
