Sorry to be the bearer of very sad news, but I have just been informed by Will Sleddon that John Rose lost his fight with cancer and died overnight.
Martin Thompson visited him again yesterday, saying that his condition was poor, but he wasn’t in any pain.
I have sent a sympathy message to John’s sister Helen.
Will post more in due course.

So sad, I was in contact with John just once and bought the tool boxes from him, superb work. Condolences to the family.

That is bad news. John made several items for me, including replacement oil tanks for my 1929 works TT bike WX179, and they fit to a millimetre, beautiful work. Also leather-fronted toolboxes to the same standard, and I loaned him a Howarth silencer as a pattern when he was thinking about making some. RIP John…
