Hello everyone,
I have just purchased what I was led to believe is a 1959 Scott with frame number 1175 and engine #DMS1190. Very original other than horn is missing. Could anyone tell me what brand and type the horn was?I am joining the SOC and hopefully they can provide information desparately needed. The radiator is bodged but have been in contact with Jon Hodges re: a new one. Other than that it appears fine with all chrome and paint in excellent condition. Was there ever an owner’s manual with these later models. There is lots of info on the early models but little that I can find on later ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brian
The latest version of “The Book of the Scott” was 1949 which did at least give some info on the coil ignition, but otherwise did not differ from earlier versions of the manual.
When you join the Club, you will be able to get a cd entitled “Technicalities” which will give you any info that was previously published in the club magazine “Yowl” about the Birmingham Scott.

Hello Brian, I dont know the make at present, I shall remove the horn in a few days and see if there is a makers mark on it, that is if it is the o.e. horn.
Yo brian!, The horn originally fitted was a Lucas Altetty,6 volt. It”s about 4 inches diamiter, with a chrome suround and lots of chrome dome nuts. regards Geoff Compiler of the Birmingham Scott Register.
Thanks everyone for the replies re: my newly acquired Scott. I have sourced a horn for it and a radiator and will continue searching info on the Birmingham models. Now if I can just find a 2 speeder. Haha. I will try and let you know of progress when radiator arrives and is installed. Great model.
