kick start levers – possible batch manufacture

Dear all,

I should have put this in the latest Yowl but forgot.

I am almost out of kickstart levers both cranked and straight types, and unless someone has a supply squirreled away I don’t know of any new castings that are available. Therefore I am going to commission a batch of both to be supplied either fully machined, part machined (central bore undersize to finish as you please) or as a raw casting.

Please email me or post here if you are interested as that will determine the batch size I run.

Can you get them done in Malleable ? Or will they have to be in S.G. ?

I was thinking Blackheart BM350 but will send some samples to my foundry first to see what historically they are made from (as appose to what the drawing says they should be made from….) and take their advice, perhaps they may even suggest a pearlitic grade of higher strength. I am also going to modify the design very slightly by adding a radius to the pawl cutout where they always crack.
