kickstart bush

Hi,
Does anyone have a good method for tightening the kickstart bush, three speed box. I can’t quite get mine nipped up against the gearbox and it gradually slips as I kickit over. I’m a bit reluctant to use a bar in the slot. Any tips would be much appreciated

On one of the gearboxes in my possession, the kickstart bush has been pinned to the gearbox end cover using three 1/8″ rods equally spaced around and through the bush. Seems to have worked!
