I was just looking at some bike bits on eBay, and I got a pop-up advert for ‘Yamaha Valve Oil Vintage’. Now this intrigued me, and I wondered why Yamaha had started making stuff for vintage bikes. So I clicked on the advert. It is for the valves on trumpets, tubas, trombone slides, etc…… : 😆

yamaha were originally and still are makers of musical instruments – hence their “tuning fork” emblem.

I knew that Stan, and a friend has a superb Yamaha piano, but it was the way the advert popped up in the middle of bike ‘stuff’ that threw me until I clicked onto it and then realised just what it was intended to lubricate. My bathroom cabinet contains ‘Emu Oil’, ‘Tiger Balm’ and ‘Dog Oil’ ointments. I daren’t read the labels !
