Lucas MC45 Dynamo

Hi.
Anyone who has one of these dynamos, as fitted to 1949/50 Shipley Scotts, and also to early Birmingham Scotts and Sunbeam S7/S8 motorcycles, may be interested to know that a conversion to a 120 watt alternator is available. For more information go to “Sources of Supply” on this website.

I cannot find anything about dynamo conversions in “Sources of Supply”. Am I blind, or isn’t there any information available yet?

Yes, I found it! Sean Hawker has done a few high-quality jobs for me, and since I have a S7 (he overhauled the dynamo) I have seen his “conversion”. It is not really a conversion – it is a totally new unit. It looks very nice, but a bit different from the original. I preferred to keep my old dynamo, but I know that his alternator unit is very good.
