Further to my previous discussion concerning the mag required for my 1930 TT Rep, I have done a bit of searching on the internet and it turns out that the Lucas MN2E/E3HM-LO magdyno currently fitted was manufactured between 1936 to 1956.
The previous owner supplied an invoice from Barry D.Bassett dated 1994 for refurbishment of the unit (£135.00 at the time) and it was never fitted. As he didn’t actually finish the resoration of the bike (which I have now taken over) , it therefore hasn’t been used since it was refurbished.
The work carried out is as follows :-
Magneto
Rewind armature
New condenser
O/H existing C/B
New gaskets and screws
Dynamo
Desemble, clean, inspect and test.
Reassemble.
So, as I want to get the bike back to 1930 spec, I would be happy to exchange it (extra cash as necessary) for a correct 1930 unit.
