Hi Chaps,
my longstroke has now been rebuilt. It has twin drippers fitted and runs petroil, formerly synthetic stuff. The drippers were set to virtually b*gger all, about half a turn out from fully closed. It seemed ok, although bear in mind the crank broke!
I’m now using Castrol R40, which has apparently higher viscosity. Any suggestions about oil flow rates and how I check it using this oil, there’s no sight glass, of course. I’ve started at 1 1/4 turns out and it all seems pleasantly smokey, but how much is enough, and what’s too much?( I already know what not enough looks like, and have a superb pair of paperweights to prove it!)
A tutto gas
Paul
