Outrigger Bearings

Hope you can help.

Having re-built my 3-Speed Super, I found the gearing quite low and thought I’d put a larger front sprocket on (currently 22T). In emails with Graham Moag, all the new outrigger sprocket stock in the SOC spares scheme are 5/8″ x 3/8″ (including those listed as 3-Speed Super). However my sprockets at 1/2″ x 1/4″ (ish – I haven’t measured exactly).

I looked up in Technicalities and it seems that for a few years at least the 1/2″ x 1/4″ was “standard” on 3-Speed Supers.

Is there any source of supply for these or do I need to consider machining and grafting etc?

Google ‘British Only Austria’ and you will find that Mr Upham stocks a lot of new Scott gears and sprockets. See what is listed, and hopefully you may find what you are looking for. As the owner of the Brough Superior trademark he also has rear brake parts that are suitable for 1928 to 1939 Flyers, TT Replicas, Sprint Specials, etc., ie the 8″ Enfield rear brake. His prices are all in Euros, and not cheap, but from what I have had in the past they are good quality items.
