I am replacing the bearing in the final drive outrigger and having stripped it out I have found the bearing housing has a crack in it so I am looking for a replacement outrigger.

Does anyone have one to suit a 1947 Shipley Scott that I can purchase please?

Not so easy to do a welded repair if the crack extends into the threaded bit that takes the retaining cap. It wouldn’t be easy to recut the thread…

Steve has yours got the speedo drive on,or without. if its with out I have got a good spare casting. eric

Mine has the speedo drive on but apart from the mounting holes for it is there much difference?

The ones with provision for the speedo drive are a somewhat different shape to the previous type, where the speedo was driven from the front hub.

Just compared the two, the one with speedo drive is a larger casting . eric

At least I now know it has to be one with a speedo drive. I will keep searching.
