As it is now three days since the OxScott 2005 finished and there have been no posts about it, I think it needs to be recorded what a fantastic event it was and our huge debt to Ian Young for organising it.
I actually only turned up for the Sunday (having had an 18th birthday party to attend all day Sat). This means I missed the main events, but on Sunday there were 8 Scotts. More had been there on Sat.
In perfect weather on Sunday, we rode out to Duns Tew to view a superb collection of mechanical goodies (bikes, cars & stationary engines) with tea and cakes and then on to the Oxford Bus Museum (including the Morris Motor Museum) before retuning to the camp site (where I can absolutly confirm the quality of the ice creams).
This is what SOC membership is about.
By the way, the only unplanned stop in the approx 70 mile round trip was to change an oiled plug in my Scott, the newest one there. I also put in another 90 getting there and back, so 160 miles in total.
If you can possibly make next year, be there – I will.
