After lots of looking and even more saving I have managed to buy a Silk Scott number 17. I understand from corresponding with one of the previous owners that when the engine was restored around 2005 or 2006 it was converted to Petrol Oil mix by Ian Pearce. Of course there is no manual and no documentation that the conversion took place, the previous owner has just stored the bike. It starts fine I have drained off some fuel and it look to be premix. As you can imagine I am keen to ensure many years of happy riding rather than a short flurry and some blue rollers.
My questions are these, how do I know for sure the conversion has been made? if its been made do I just leave the tap to the Silk oil pump off? and finally at what ratio of fuel to oil do I prepare my premix.
Any help greatly appreciated
