Following an accident I require a replacement petrol tank for my 1948 Flyer . It is of the twin filler type and described by a more knowledge more member as the long tank model.
Failing such an item becoming available can any member recommend a tank builder?>
Hi Peter. We met in Cornwall a few years back. If you have absolutely no luck, contact us. There is a very tatty twin filler late tank, but it was in the infamous Trickett fire and one filler neck is missing and the seams want re soldering. It as mostly all there and very much better and cheaper than starting from scratch.
As I said, it is a fall back option if you can not get a good tank elsewhere.

I have a twin filler tank that I do not need. I am not sure if it was from a 30’s or a post war Shipley Scott. Can you tell me the centre distance between the mounting holes. If you email me I can sent some photos of it.

Thank you for reply, then vehicle is currently at the authorised repairers but I will endeavour to get the information for you. I would be obliged if you could forward any photographs for the information of the Insurance Co that is dealing with the claim. I would also expect an honest description of its condition.
Regards,
Hello Ian, The distance between the centres on my 1949 scott is 23.25 ins.
approx. Also I have a twin filler tank with the same measurement,so if yours is the same it would fit a 1948. Hope this helps,Ted Robinson.
