Good evening fellow Scottists.
Sorting through some of my late brothers documents pertaining to his (now ours) 1960 Brum, I have come across a bill for work carried out at Aerco Jigs and Tools. It had new conrods, crankpin bushes, rollers, barrel and pistons. Plus new bottom and second gear. That must have been some disaster for a motor that was just 7 years old;. The bottom line was £53 10 bob. The previous owner was a Mr Short of Romford. I wonder if the gentleman is still with us, as I would like to complete the bikes history.
Just under a thousand miles covered in 8 months, after a ‘rest’ of over 30 years. Not all trouble free, but she always got me home. Its been a fairly steep learning curve. A few bits to tidy up over the winter, and we will be ready again. May I be the first to wish one and all a Happy Christmas and a Scott filled New Year .
Best wishes from a chilly South West France
P.s It was the AGM of my local club last sunday, and I am the most remote of the members at something like 30 miles from our base. The only one to turn up on a bike !! Scott of course. French softies 😀
