Recent website disappearance !!!

Some of you may have noticed the SOC website disappeared for a few days recently – this was due to some updated rules as of January 1, 2014, where ICANN (the domain registration people) requires all accredited registrars to verify their new contact information. I missed the email informing me i had to do this (i’ve just changed computers !!!) and we were temporarily suspended. Hopefully all is now OK and back to normal…

I have just Googled “Scott Owners Club” and we appear not to exist – is this connected in any way to the website “going down”?

Even if you Google “scottownersclub.org”, it still doesn’t find it. Google should soon find it again……

Phew!! It still doesn’t come up on google, I found the page again by going through a link on classicbikersclub

Once you have found it, make it one of your ‘Favourites’ by left clicking onto the star symbol on your screen, and then you can get it almost instantly every time.

The site (specifically the scottownersclub.org domain) was down for about three days, i didn’t notice until Monday when i returned from a few days away. In this time the Google search has ‘unindexed’ our site but should find it again in the near future. Thanks for all your support, patience and calmness,

Hi long lost friends! Looking for the lost Scott web site I stumbled on The John Lumley Affair. Google it and read.Very shocking,and bad for our interests in old motorcycles,which should not be about how much are they worth,and more about the joy of riding and working on. Lets hope the people involved reconsider their actions.

Hi Geoff,
“The John Lumley Affair” as described by Prosper Keating in his various blogs, must be taken with more than one pinch of salt. I will recommend studying the comments by the Vincent Owners Club https://www.voc.uk.com/jlumley.php‎ – I was a delegate at the meeting of the Executive General Committee meeting of the VOC when this affair was thoroughly discussed and mr. Keating and another VOC member were expelled as a result of their insinuations against VOC officials.
I fully agree with you that our interests in old motorcycles, should not be about how much are they worth, but more about the joy of riding and working on.

Hi, Have read the VOC article you recommended. Two sides to every story!. Now less gob smacked! Hope the recipients have given generously to the chosen charities.
