Today I removed a posting from Bob Tricket that was intemperate in the extreme.
I also removed the posting from “grey fox” (Paul Casini) that clearly incited such a reply.
This website message board is intended as a comfortable meeting point where we can exchange advice and friendly comment with dignity and humour.
It is not a bear pit for a minority to verbally maul each other and bring shame on us all.
Listen well Messer’s Tricket and Casini
Either use this message board in the spirit intended, or you will be permanently excluded.

Roger,
Many thanks for the action taken, it was right and proper. I can now consider contributing to the message board for advice without fear of upsetting fellow members or attracting derision.
‘Cheers’
Jeff Meehan
I would like to add my aproval of your action Rodger . regards Jim Mitcheson
Nice one! About time!
I had considered making some sort of comment along the lines of; “Pull ‘yer ‘eds in.”, but as a new member I was reluctant to put my two pennyworth in, but it did cause me to wonder just what sort of bear-pit I’d joined.
Have you fellows any idea just how undignified your behavior seems? “Shame on you.”, say I, if you must behave like that go onto the eBay Community pages where you’ll find yourselves in like minded company, just leave it off this site.
I have no idea of what has caused this unsavory exhibition of intemperate breast beating and nor do I care, I would just ask; “Please take it elsewhere.”
By the way I am not hiding behind a posting name, I simply made a mess of entering my detail when I first signed up and I’ve no idea how to change it!
Full marks to you Roger for your action, especially as “Grey Fox” is now an Officer of the Club, and should be acting as such.
As for Bob Trickett, his two-pennyworth would be more credible if he put the other £15.98 to it and actually became a member.
About time something was done.
Stan Thomas.
Roger, whilst I agree with your point, and accept your view ,do you really think ,being excluded would worry me! I would suggest that you have more chance of Lord Lucan winning the Derby on Shergar,or Burnley being ,if only it could happen ,league champions
I have two responsibilities.
I am publicity officer of the SOC
I am a moderator of this message board to assist Paul Wilson
We have, in the past, made entreaties to all to respect the normally accepted codes of human decency and respect for others.
We went through some difficult times and we thought that finally things had got better.
In this case I decided that enough was enough and that the required action was not only to quietly delete the offensive material, but to name and shame the perpetrators, especially as their actions bring shame on the majority.
I will continue to do it unless / until I am ordered to do otherwise by a majority vote of our management committee.
I understand a little of your most robust character and do not expect you to be worried or concerned by this one jot.
All reasonable inputs are most welcome from all.
I respectfully ask that you remember your legal training and couch your postings in language that shows respect for others and the good name of the SOC.
Kind Regards
Roger Moss
Ok Roger point accepted .Paul
Dear Paul
We all get passionate about things at time and it is easy to allow some provocation to get under our skin.
I acknowledge absolutely your good intentions
You have accepted this reminder as a gentleman
I respect and thank you for this.
Kind Regards
Roger
ps do not think you are on your own — I struggle with my own passions!
However, as a boy, if my father thought I was out of line — he beat me!
He had a book on child rearing by Joseph Stalin.
It said “Spare the rod and spoil the child” on the front in Russian!
