Whilst I suppose £20K reflects current market trends, I must say it does look an amazing machine (or did- as the advert was removed from Ebay yesterday morning).

That said, I can’t recall having seen this particular bike before at any rallies etc. although it does look too immaculate to actually be a “road going” machine.

Perhaps Potty would know the bike, being the doyen of all things Scott.

Hi there, I am Steve Nairn from Scotland – new member – I bought the bike on Saturday. Registration is FS2739 – bike has been restored well and everything looks OK, but it is dry and won’t started until the weekend (hopefully). Interestingly the bike spent most of its life in Blairgowrie which is about 10 miles from where I live. Frame number 8 but engine has been changed, originally PY3760, now DPY4612. Steve

Welcome Steve – I believe that your bike was formerly owned by Scottish member, Martin Green and restored during 2017 by former Club editor Kevin Baylis in 2017. If you contact George Millar, the Scottish Section coordinator you could be introduced to the characters concerned at one of their meetings. I believe that Martin had the frame of the bike for many years and went about collecting the other parts for the rebuild over time.  There are occasional articles concerning the rebuild in Yowl.

Thanks Lewis, I’ll get in touch with George as you suggest. The bike looks to be properly put together and I am sure it will fire up OK this weekend. I have another Scott – 1929 UM2345 – that I bought from Brian Marshall in 2012 that still needs rebuilt, hoping to get around to it this year. Steve
