There are 3 articles connected with Scotts in the January 2012 edition of The Classic Motor Cycle magazine:-
1) Martin Heckscher and his 1926 Super Squirrell
2) Richard, Justine & Leon Blackburn with their Scotts, and details of the Scott services they provide.
3) Reprint from Motor Cycling 17 April 1941, recounting the 1928 Seniot TT in which Tommy Hatch came third on a Scott.
Ideal reading matter for you to stay aloof in the frantic run up to Christmas!
There is also an interesting “period” photo of an early TT Replica with a very unusual chain oiler tank under the saddle. It is the usual trapezoidal shape fitted to early Reps and 1928 works racers, but has a curved recess on the underside, presumably to give enough clearance for a magdyno. I have only ever seen one such tank, and assumed that it had been modified by the owner, but now it looks as if the factory made them like that ! After more than 40 years of being interested in Scotts I still keep finding out more things every week. No wonder they are so fascinating and beguiling….
