Scott for sale

We get contacted occasionally by owners wanting Scotts or wanting to sell them.
We try to help but are not bike dealers.
This is info of early 28 duplex Scott with kite forks.
I think wheel sizes and guards are wrong, but otherwise it looks OK
Tatty but complete. Claimed one owner from new.
Dominique sent pics but I could not copy them here. He wants to change for a Velo, but I see no reason why he would not sell, then buy a Velo with the cash.
I am sure he would be happy to send pics if contacted

He has it on EBay.
Claims it is a TT Replica in his ad.

I would just like to make one thing clear.
I am not and do not claim to be an expert on model specifications and authenticity.
I did not tell Dominique it was a TT replica.
He claims it as registered Jan 1928 and it is (or was) a Short Stroke with the FY prefix.
I asked him to advise frame number and even sent a photo to show where this is located. I told him I would phone John Underhill to get a better definition when he gave the frame number.
He said he could not find the frame number.

This guy emailed me also and I have send him quite some info. Also stating the year of build, type and things to look at. We emailled a few times and than I suddenly heard nothing from him back. Strange, especially because in my last email I told him that if he wished to sell the bike I might know someone…

Personalle, I don’t think it’s a TT Replica….

I had a TT Replica first registered Sept 1928. The model was listed as a 29 model, but they were sold from the Autumn bike show of 28 onwards.
I had another made within a week. Both had slim clutches.
A Jan 28 bike with an FY engine, no long rear brake anchor.
Interesting bike but no TT Replica, but then, what makes a TT Replica so special by comparison?
