Not even recognisable as a TT Replica ! Detachable cylinder head/barrel, wrong tank with no cylinder-wall oiling, wrong forks (Brampton), later chromed wheels, wrong mudguards and stays, later bars and controls, later Flyer type chromed exhaust, etc., etc., etc. ! It looks like a late 1930’s Flyer.

The notes I have state it as a 1935 Flying Squirrel fitted with a 1931 Powerplus engine. The engine number is correct and one of a batch of Powerplus engines PY 3593 – 3606 made in the first quarter of 1931. It originally had engine no. DPY 4126, but has had PY 3604 since at least 1976. I wonder if the head and block is from the original engine?
I think that it would have been a blind-head engine in 1931, and I can’t see any evidence of cylinder-wall oiling, but I’m only looking at the pics on a small laptop screen. It seems a bit ‘iffy’ for the vendor to describe it as a 1930 machine when they obviously know that it was registered in 1935….

Hi If you think you fancy a Scott, remember this. The best bikes change hands within the club between friends, and usually to people who know what the ownership of a Scott entails. The less correct bikes ,often “fully restored are sold at auctions to buyers who don”t know enough about the model on offer, but find out soon after how wrong a Scott can be! Engines will fit in bikes 40 years apart.Same applies to cycle parts, wheels etc, ect. Scotts on ebay can be very wrong as you are bidding on photo graphs and the vendors (biast) opinion, no test ride,no listening to the engine,”sight unseen”., NOT a good plan ,and No re dress or refunds. Caveat Emporum, Mind how you go!
