I am looking for a Scott Sociable. I am aware very few have survived and most are in museums but I would like to find one, in whatever condition, to use for some classic runs.
Good luck Nick.
A living, breathing, campaigning machine would be great to see…
I wonder how many survivors there are?
There are only 5 survivors out of maybe 120 that were made. I rescued number 5 survivor from a field in Derbyshire in a badly corroded condition in June 1996. With the help of my father we restored it to a “rolling chassis”, but his death took the wind out of my sails and I passed the project on to a fellow VSCC man who was very enthusiastic to complete the job. I asked for first refusal if he ever sold it, but passed this option on to a fellow SOC man, who is considering his position, now that the VSCC man has died.
I am happy for you to email me, but circumstances mean that I am unlikely to reply until April.
