Scott “Special”

A friend sent me this picture of an interesting Scott “Special” taken in the early 1960’s at Bugarrow Bottom on the TT course. The registration looks to be UU 908.

Does anyone know of it?

I am truly amazed that no-one seems to know this FAMOUS bike !!! It is the late Arthur Fogg’s machine and has been in many magazines and books, including “The First Scott Scene”. It was a TT Rep that was extensively modified at, of all places, the Panther works. So there is a LOT of Panther in there, including the wheels. I believe that Ken Swallow had a similar conversion done. Arthur kept it in immaculate condition, but I don’t know where it is now.

Many thanks. I did look for this Scott in the books I have available here, including The First Scott Scene, but couldn’t find it. Actually, I still can’t, must be lock-down fever setting in.

I see the registration is UU 906, and thanks to Brian’g guidance toward Arthur Fogg, there is an extensive article on the machine in October 1963 Yowl.
