I have been contacted by an ex-Scott Owner called Ron Hayne who is attending the Swanton Abbot (nr Norwich, UK) village re-union event on April the 3rd 2005.
During the 1940’s and 50’s there were three Scott Owner’s (of which Ron as one) living in the village and all are attending the re-union on April the 3rd, 2005.
If someone was in the area on that day, and could bring a Scott along, Ron and his friends would be absolutely delighted (and would make the owner (s) very welcome). They would also provide a free buffet lunch if contacted in advance.
Ron was hoping to contact the Scott Owners’ club and ask if any Scott riders would be willing to attend the re-union along with their Scotts as these machines are part of the village’s history. However, this invitation is too late for the April’s Yowl so i’m putting it on the website in case anyone wishes to go along. Further details can be obtained by contacting Ron directly (his telephone number is 01242 695508).
For the record i’m told that the Scott’s ‘living’ in Swanton Abbot at the time were as follows:
1930 Flyer UT6529
1931 Reynolds Special GK2007
1929 Tourer
Paul Wilson (on behalf of Ron Hayne, now living in Cheltenham)
